Part of the project will create a testbed using ARM-based technology in an ORAN. This will compare how well ARM servers work compared to the more commonly used Intel servers in both RAN and core networks. It will look at things like power usage and will also develop a special software library to speed up ARM-based RAN.

A new RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) integration will be developed to add dynamic support to ARM-based ORAN stacks, alongside work to optimise CU & DU power efficiency and acceleration options.
