Young people can often get cheaper travel. Each bus company may operate on different terms, but most will charge you for a child's fare if you're 15 or under.
Companies such as First Group offer student bus passes if you're in college or further education, so it's useful to contact bus operators to find out your options and the cost.
Apply for a Young Person's Railcard if you want to travel by train and you're aged between 16 and 25; you can save a third on most train fares. You can buy a Young Person's Railcard at some stations, although it's free with some bank accounts.
You must be 16 or over and in further or higher education to apply for a TOTUM card. There is no upper age limit.
The TOTUM card is available to students studying full-time or part-time. You're only eligible to buy this card once your course has started.
