Weather disruption
Winter weather is causing disruption to services in some parts of the county. Find out what services may be affected in your area.
You must book road space to work on the highway if you want to carry out activities which include:
- work that impacts pedestrians or traffic flow, such as building maintenance or tree surgery
- placing a licenced obstruction on the road that needs traffic control, such as temporary signals for hoarding or scaffold
- minor alterations to the existing road layout with approval from us first
- work for new developments with a signed section 38 or section 278 agreement
Book road space
You must give at least 10 working days' notice, unless it's for emergency work that need to start immediately.
Cost and payment
Booking road space costs:
- £25 per application, per phase of work/activity
- £1 for each additional street affected by the same work/activity
If we approve your application, we will give you instructions on how to pay. We prefer you to pay by credit or debit card.
