If you are a social worker who has been away from the profession for over 2 years, we will support your return. 

We welcome social workers from various backgrounds. We will support your return when you are ready. 

We offer a Return to Social Work programme to support your learning and development. We will support and provide you with resources to help ease your transition back into the field. 

You will get:  

  • paid placement opportunities as a family worker for 6 months. This will help you finish your study and placement days 
  • Children’s Services induction. This includes all mandatory training and social work training 
  • to attend ASYE workshops
  • access to Learning and Development opportunities and the Academy (not professional qualifications) whilst employed and during your return period 
  • regular support and meetings on both an individual and group basis 
  • a protected caseload that will develop as you grow, giving you time to learn and gain confidence 
  • a guaranteed interview for employment once your return period is complete  
  • the opportunity to progression to a Level 2 Social Worker when you are ready 
  • access to wellbeing, coaching, mentoring and employee networks whilst employed

We know that returning social workers have different experiences and skills. Your workload and progress to Level 2 will match what you know and can do.
