What is a Regionally Important Geological Site?
Regionally Important Geological Sites (RIGS) are sites of regional and local importance for their geology that have not been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
There are currently 49 RIGS in Dorset. All these sites were designated by Dorset's Important Geological Sites Group. For more information about RIGS groups contact Dorset's Important Geological Sites Group.
