During 2022, the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) worked with us and residents to investigate customer experiences of adult social care, understand where improvements could be made and provide a plan for how we could change services for the better. The report identified that redesigning our ‘front door’ as the highest priority for change.
The term ‘front door’ refers to all the ways that our customers contact us or find the information they need.
This includes:
- our website
- in writing
- telephone
- our buildings, such as our libraries and offices
We have launched a transformation programme to redesign our front door services which will ensure that people will have a consistently good service when they contact us and so that they can find clear, relevant information easily. We want to work with people who access care and support from us to help us achieve this work.
How to get involved
You can help us to improve our front door in a few ways.
Complete our survey
Tell us about your experiences of contacting adult services in our short survey. Your answers will help us to better understand what we need to change and what improvements we need to make. Complete our survey.
Reference group
The reference group is a flexible and easy way to support the front door redesign programme without a regular commitment.
Members of the group have the opportunity to engage with the front door project in a number of ways. You may be invited to occasional meetings to review our work, asked to complete short surveys or even given short research tasks to complete. These opportunities are flexible and work around your own availability.
Working group
The working group meets monthly to improve the experiences of our residents when they contact us for support and care. You will be included at the heart of this work and will have a say about the changes we make.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month on video call via Microsoft Teams.
