As Dorset Council observed the State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen on Monday 19 September, most of our public services were suspended for the day.
All services are now open but there may still be some delays to our bin collection service.
Bin collections
There were no kerbside bin collections of any kind on Monday 19 September.
If your bins are usually emptied on a Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, please put your waste out as normal.
If your bins are usually collected on a Monday, please note:
- your rubbish and recycling bins we will aim to empty on Saturday 24 September, so please do not put your rubbish or recycling bin out until Friday night (23 September)
- if your missed rubbish or recycling bin has not been collected by 10am on Monday 26 September, please report it to us
- food waste bins will be emptied on your next collection day (Monday 26 September). If you need to dispose of your food waste before this time, please take it to a household recycling centre from Tuesday 20 September
- Garden waste collections we hope to catch up on from Tuesday 20 September, so please leave your bin out until it is emptied
Libraries and books of condolence
If you wish to sign a book of condolence please note:
- books of condolence were open at Dorset Libraries until 5pm on the 20 September 2022
- a book of condolence was also available at Dorset Council County Hall until until 5pm on the 20 September 2022
- people can also pay their respects by leaving an online message at Royal.UK
