Services we provide:

  • advice and guidance about supporting children and young people with physical and medical needs to fully access education, in line with relevant legislation and national guidance
  • template policies and plans for schools and settings to use when supporting children and young people with physical and medical needs
  • children handling training for schools and other educational settings
  • provision of specialist equipment and ICT, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) software
  • support with school transfer planning
  • monitoring of children and young people who may need environmental adaptations as they move into or between schools

In order that we may deliver services appropriate to your needs we may also ask for the following 'special category' (sensitive) information about you, which may include:

How long will we keep your information?

We will cease using your data as soon as you no longer require our services. For legal reasons Dorset Council will retain your data for 25 years after date of birth (or 150 years if care-experienced/ adopted), at which point it will be securely destroyed.
