Purbeck Youth Music works to inspire, encourage and develop young musicians in the Purbeck area. They offer a range of regular ensembles and beginner groups for brass, woodwind and string instruments.

Youth Music Wessex offers weekly music groups for young learners of all ages and abilities at its base in Lytchett Minster School.
Its largest group is the Wessex Youth Symphony Orchestra which regularly performs at the Lighthouse in Poole.
There are also groups for string players, wind instrument players and for learning music theory.

Each week Pop Club members in Dorchester get the chance to take part in a wide variety of musical workshops and perform using a professional sound system under the guidance of music producer Mickey Wills. A fantastic opportunity for young people to discover and experience live music performance. Pop Club also plays live at gigs and festivals throughout the year.

Bournemouth Symphony Youth Chorus will help you to sing to a high standard. To become a member, you need to be 8 years old or more, enjoy singing, be willing to attend regular rehearsals and take part in their concerts. These include concerts with Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and concerts that they give by themselves.

Christchurch Music Centre is an independent centre based in Twynham School in Christchurch. The centre hosts a Junior and a Senior wind band, meeting each Saturday morning throughout the term to rehearse. Players enjoy a challenging selection of music, from big screen to big band, popular favourites to classical greats.
Performance highlights include concerts in the beautiful Christchurch Priory and airside during the Bournemouth Air Festival. Both bands are frequently asked to perform at events across East Dorset, providing musical entertainment for the Christchurch Christmas Festival and relaxing summer afternoons by local bandstands.
