Household recycling centre vehicle permit terms and conditions
site staff will check your vehicle registration electronically against our database when you visit a site and record each visit you make
recycling centre staff will refuse entry to vehicles without a valid permit
only one permitted vehicle per household
permits are not transferable
you are not permitted to deposit business waste at any household recycling centre
site staff have the authority to inspect any load delivered to the site to satisfy themselves that it is household waste. If there is sufficient reason to believe the waste deposited is generated in the course of a business then they will question and, if necessary, refuse permission to tip
only residents living in the Dorset Council area can apply for a permit
permits are for Dorset Council’s household recycling centres
vehicles must be registered to the applicant's home address to be eligible for a 12 visit vehicle permit
there is a one-tonne maximum weight limit on waste taken per visit for all vans and load-carrying vehicles
we define a 'van' as a vehicle with a rear load-carrying capacity instead of seats and panels to the rear instead of windows
tipper vans, flatbed vehicles, box/luton vans, horseboxes and agricultural vehicles cannot be used on our sites
the largest vehicle accepted is a Ford Transit-type van
no vehicle more than 3.5 tonnes gross weight will be allowed onto any site
any vehicle requiring a permit cannot tow a trailer
All permits will expire 12 months after registration and will not automatically renew
you will need to re-apply for a permit every 12 months
checks will be carried out by Dorset Council for all applications received
misuse could result in the permit being cancelled
Terms and conditions for hire vehicles
a maximum 3 day hire agreement that must be shown to staff when arriving on site
