How does the Armed Forces Covenant impact on business, and what can business do to support the Covenant?
These are two frequently asked questions, and the second question is the easiest to answer. Businesses can support the Covenant in a variety of ways.
Firstly, you can show your commitment by signing an Armed Forces Covenant Pledge.
Secondly and importantly, you can offer employment to Veterans and those leaving the Services, support staff who are reservists, support Armed Forces Day and could offer discounts to the Armed Forces Community.
The first question is initially more difficult to answer. However, by supporting the Covenant you show your support for the men and women who serve and who have served and access a well-disciplined, highly trained and inspirational future workforce.
For those businesses that already employ veterans, support reservists and are actively involved in activity that supports the Covenant there is the Employer Recognition Scheme that can be applied for to show your support and commitment.
