Dorset Council has launched a new ‘Digital Innovation Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)’ to:
- identify organisations looking to work with or partner on digital innovation initiatives
- make organisations aware of opportunities to work with the council and its digital innovation partners
- publish details of services and projects to allow organisations to compete for opportunities
- contract with organisations in an open and transparent way which meets procurement regulations and supports the council’s strategic aims
- grow the Dorset innovation ecosystem
The online expression of interest form is now live for companies and organisations to sign up to.
How Dorset Council will use the DPS
Projects such as the multi award-winning 5G RuralDorset project and Dorset Open Networks Ecosystem Project have earned Dorset Council a reputation for leading on world-class research and development work that supports digital innovation.
Through this work, the council has developed an innovation ecosystem of local, national and international partners across public sector, academia, research and industry.
The DPS will help the council to scale and diversify this ecosystem to achieve its strategic aims around economic growth and social opportunity. It will also help the council support significant innovation capability in the areas Dorset has the greatest strength - defence, security and agri-tech.
A DPS is unlike a traditional framework for the supply of goods, works or services. It is an electronic system which suppliers can join at any time.
