Weather disruption
Winter weather is causing disruption to services in some parts of the county. Find out what services may be affected in your area.
We chose to limit recovering action of outstanding Council Tax during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have reintroduced the recovery routines and are sending out reminders for any Council Tax that has not been paid.
The reminder notice posted to you shows your unpaid Council Tax balance, which now needs to be paid.
If you are not in a position to make the payment and you need further support due to a low income, you can check to see if you qualify for Council Tax Support.
If you still need assistance, contact us by email for further advice and support. We encourage all of our customers to contact us by email if possible, as our telephone lines are often very busy.
We have lots of experience in helping people with a range of individual needs so contact us if you can’t make the payments shown on your reminder notice or need to inform us of a change of circumstances. Our email address is also shown on the reminder notice.
You can get independent guidance and support from Dorset Citizens Advice. If you have more than one debt, their specialist advisers can talk through options that suit your circumstances, as well as offering help with budgeting.
It is important that you do not ignore this reminder notice and try to access the help you need or make an arrangement to pay. You can email us, quoting your Council Tax reference, a suggested payment offer and payment frequency.
