The neighbourhood plan was prepared by the parish council. It has undergone examination by an independent examiner and received a positive result at a local referendum.
Referendum Result
The Buckhorn Weston and Kington Magna Neighbourhood Plan referendum was held on Thursday 20 June 2024 and asked residents: “Do you want Dorset Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Buckhorn Weston and Kington Magna to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?” The result was a majority in favour (138 ‘yes’ votes and 46 ‘no’ votes).
