You have a right to be listened to and have your views taken seriously. It can be difficult to express how you feel. An advocate can either share your wishes and feelings on your behalf or help you to do this yourself. Find out more about independent advocacy.

The National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) provide most of our advocacy services in Dorset.

You can ask your Personal Adviser how to request an independent advocate who can help you to:

  • understand your rights
  • make informed decisions about your life
  • support you to speak up about things that matter to you

Your Life Beyond Care survey

We have asked care leavers to complete the Your Life Beyond Care survey every 2 years about their wellbeing.

It’s very quick to complete and completely anonymous. It has been designed by care leavers for care leavers.

This survey is independently managed by Coram Voice. Your answers help us to know what we are doing well, and what we can improve upon. We use the results to make things better for Dorset care leavers.
