Holiday activity and food program (HAF)

 

The following activities are:

  • free with a HAF passcode 
  • 10am to 4pm
  • groups split by age groups 8 to 12 and 10 to 16

We would like to invite young people of the local area to join us for a day of activities and lunch at Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre. Find more information on HAF funding and get a passcode.

The team at Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre will allocate places and email you confirmation in due course.

We offer additional support, by means of a small group of 8 children with two staff members. 1:1 support can be requested and funded but this must be communicated and arranged in advance.  

Lunch is provided by Loose Moose Catering in Weymouth, and the children will be provided with sausages (veggie available upon request) and mash with an option of baked beans, peas or gravy. Pudding includes a piece of fruit and bakery treat.  If you would prefer to bring a packed lunch, please do so. 

 

Autumn and winter indoor climbing club - now open to new members

11 to 18 year olds are invited to climb weekly on a Wednesday evening during term time at a local indoor facility. The club is open to amateur and improver climbers, but not complete beginners. If you would like to learn how the belay and tie in, you can book onto an introduction course.

Intro to climbing club sessions

These sessions are aimed at youngsters looking to learn the ropes to join the Wednesday evening climbing club. Open to beginners aged 11 to 18 years of age with little or no climbing experience.  The first session will be based at WOEC, before transitioning to a larger indoor wall in Weymouth where the group will integrate with the club members whilst continuing their small group tuition with their own instructor.

  • 19, 26 March & 2 April 
  • £63 for three sessions

Summer crag climbing club

The climbing club moves outdoors during the summer term to enjoy the real rock and lighter evenings. These sessions are open to all club members aged 11 to 18 year olds. If you are an existing climber, but new to the cub, drop us an enquiry to see if there is space for you to join a trial session. 

  • Wednesdays 5:30pm to 8:30pm
  • £18 per session, bookable per half term 
  • 23 April to 21 May
  • 4 June to 23 July
  • minibus transport and all equipment included

Holiday activity days - 2025 dates coming soon

The holiday activity days provide an adventurous alternative to a standard holiday club:

  • 9:30am to 12:30pm
  • groups split by age groups 8 to 12 and 10 to 16
  • £53 + hot lunch, or you can bring a packed lunch yourself 
  • or FREE with a HAF passcode 

Activities range from kayaking and giant paddle boarding though to climbing and archery, not to mention the all-time popular indoor tunnels.

Short Break SEND activity sessions - 2025 dates coming soon

£6 per person, per half day session

Join the friendly team of instructors to explore adventure sports in a small and supportive group. Open to young people with mild to moderate needs. These sessions are part of the Short Break scheme, providing a short break to parents and guardians. Sessions are part funded by Dorset Council. Please get in touch if you have any difficulty paying the sessional rate as we want all families to have the opportunity to book.

Sessions available for ages 7 to 11 and 12 to 17.
