Astro and grass pitches at Purbeck Sports Centre

Boasting some of the best outdoor facilities in Purbeck we have a full sized artificial grass pitch used for football and hockey, a rugby pitch, two full sized football pitches and a cricket square, along with an indoor Sports Hall, all with use of our indoor changing rooms and use of the free car park.

Astro football/hockey pitch and indoor hockey/football

The astro pitch can be used as a full size football/ hockey pitch, or can be divided into 3 mini pitches for small-sided games or training. The pitch can be hired by groups or teams by the hour. Ideal for regular training sessions, tournaments or just a kick about with a group of mates. 

There is a very successful Dorset County Football Association affiliated adult 6-a-side football league on Tuesday evenings, with Premier, Championship and League One divisions. Please contact Bob Kitley of Soccer Solutions for further information.

Grass pitches - football

The grass football pitches are currently used to the maximum capacity. Three teams are based at the centre - Wareham Rangers Football Club first and second teams (who play in Dorset Division 1 and Dorset Division 3 respectively). There may be space available for one off bookings. Please contact us for further details.

The cricket pitch with an artificial grass wicket is available for hire from April to the end of August, either for a one-off or series of bookings.

Clubs

We are home to a number of local clubs that use our facilities, such as Wareham Rangers, Swanage and Wareham Hockey Club. Please contact the clubs for further information.

Bookings

All facilities can be booked up to one week in advance for a one off booking. They can also be booked on a regular basis. Please contact the centre for further details. You can book by phone or in person.
