Degree of difficulty: | Due to the superb landscape, unique ecology and wildlife, as well as ongoing commercial forestry operations, it has not been possible to upgrade the route in its entirety and it may be necessary to push your bicycle over sandy, rough or muddy sections, especially after rainy weather. Children should be carefully supervised. |
Suitability: | For families with children older than ten years. A good hybrid or 'off road bike' is sufficient, a mountain bike is easier. |

Cycle parking: | Cycle parking is found at Purbeck Park (for 30 bikes) and all the beach car parks in Studland. |
Public transport: | • if you would like to hire a bike from Purbeck Park, and travel by bus to collect it, catch the number 30 or 40 bus. Please note: The 40 bus stops outside the Car Park at the Castle View Visitor Centre - follow the wooden signposts to Purbeck Park (Norden). • Swanage Railway operate a vintage train service to Norden Railway Station from Swanage, Herston, Harman's Cross and Corfe Castle. The Railway has a guards carriage for bicycles. |
Car parking: | Long stay parking is available at Purbeck Park or at Studland there are car parks at the main beaches of Shell Bay, Knoll, Middle or South Beach - all run by the National Trust. |
Facilities and refreshments: | There are refreshments at Norden Railway Station (next to Purbeck Park), and Knoll and Middle Beaches at Studland. There are also restaurants and pubs at Shell Bay and in Studland village. Public toilets can be found at Norden Car Park and the beaches at Studland. |
