If you've ever considered becoming a childminder, don't miss Dorset Council's free online information session.

The event, which takes place on February 26 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, will cover topics such as start-up costs, key considerations, Ofsted requirements, available training, and more.

The session will also feature guest speakers who are current childminders who will share their first-hand experiences and insights, and be able to answer any questions.

People who are interested can register at: Childminding information session.

Childminding is often a great option for parents, or anyone looking for a flexible career without the need for prior qualifications and offers support and in job training.

Childminders can choose their own hours, days and work from home or at local locations, working around their own childcare or other needs.

Cllr. Claire Sutton, Dorset Council Cabinet Member for Children Services, Education and Skills, said: “This information session is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in childminding to learn more about the profession.

“Childminders play a crucial role in our community, providing high-quality care and early education to our youngest residents.

“I encourage anyone who is passionate about working with children to attend and discover the many benefits of this rewarding career.”

Rachel Nesbitt, Early Years Lead at Dorset Council, will host the session.
