On 26 September 2024 Dorset Council received the Planning Inspector's report on its Annual Position Statement 2024. This, along with the published Annual Position Statement confirms that Dorset Council can demonstrate a housing land supply of 5.02 years. In relation to the results of the 2022 Housing Delivery Test a Dorset Council Housing Delivery Test Action Plan has been produced, as required by National Planning Policy where housing delivery is below 95% of the housing requirement. The Action Plan identifies reasons for under-delivery of housing, explores ways to reduce the risk of further under-delivery, and sets out measures the council intends to take to improve levels of delivery.
