Our Family information Directory lists organisations that provide services or activities to children, young people and families in Dorset.

Directory entry criteria policy

Read our criteria to see if your service or activity can be included on our directory:

• all listings must be offering a service or activity for children, young people, parents, carers or professionals working with families
• services and activities must be regular, ongoing and provided within the local authority area of Dorset Council
• organisations outside of the Dorset Council area may be considered if they provide specialist support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities or provide a service that helps families stay safe. Approval is at the discretion of the Family Information Service (FIS)
• all listings must clearly state all cost information for families, if there is any charge for a service, event, or activity
• approved listings must be reviewed and updated at least every 6 months. Records not reviewed/updated within 6 months will be subject to removal from the directory
• all listings are subject to approval and changes to the submitted information may be made, at the discretion of the FIS. If you do not agree with any amendments, you may remove your entry
• FIS cannot recommend or endorse any providers listed within the directory. The public are responsible for checking suitability when selecting a provider, listings are for information only
