Weather disruption
Winter weather is causing disruption to services in some parts of the county. Find out what services may be affected in your area.
If you offer any skin piercing procedures and live in the Dorset Council area you must register for a personal certificate with us. If you live outside of the Dorset Council area you will need to register with your local council. If you work from a premises, they must also be registered.
You will need a passport style photograph to submit when you register.
The purpose of registration is to ensure that basic health and safety and infection control standards are maintained in any premises where these activities are carried out.
If you have a personal certificate and you have a change to your name or address you are required to submit an application for 'amending an existing licence' and pay the amendment fee as stated below.
If you have a premises certificate and the premises has changed address then a 'new premises application' and full fee must be submitted.
If an applicant wishes to add a procedure to an existing certificate at a later date, you will be required to submit an application for 'adding a new procedure to an existing licence' and full fee must be submitted.
The regulations applicable to this registration are the Local Government (Misc Provisions) Act 1982 and relevant local by-laws.
