Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens offer a unique setting on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site for you to celebrate an unforgettable day with family and friends. The lush 30-acre Gardens make an amazing backdrop for photographs and video – and you and your guests will have exclusive access to the venue on the evening of your wedding. Take your vows under the charming gazebo and then enjoy your reception in the purpose-built Garden Pavilion nestling amid exotic planting in its own private lawn. Seating up to 150 people, this light, airy space with clear panelled walls and wide entrances makes you feel that you are really a part of the Gardens.
Situated on the south coast approximately 8 miles from the coastal towns of Weymouth and Bridport, we are situated in the quaint historic village of Abbotsbury. The Gardens were established in 1765 by the first Countess of Ilchester as a kitchen garden for her nearby castle and have achieved many accolades. Alan Titchmarsh said they were: “One of the finest gardens I have ever visited.” HAA/Christie’s voted them Garden of the Year in 2012.
