Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens offer a unique setting on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast for you to celebrate an unforgettable day with family and friends.  We are situated in the quaint historic village of Abbotsbury, on the south coast, approximately 8 miles from the coastal towns of Weymouth and Bridport. The gardens were established in 1765 by the first Countess of Ilchester as a kitchen garden, for her nearby castle, and have achieved many accolades.

From a small intimate ceremony, to a large ceremony and reception, the gardens offer a stunning location for your special day. With access to 30 subtropical acres, the gardens offer a unique coastal setting for your celebrations.

Hold your ceremony in an exclusive area accessed via a private entrance.  As your guests look on, take your vows on the stunning West Lawn, licensed for civil ceremonies. The wedding marquee is nestled amongst the exotic planting on the edge of the West Lawns. This light and airy space, with clear panelled walls, allows guests to feel fully immersed in the beautiful surroundings of the gardens.
