Nothe Fort celebrated its first civil ceremony in June 2016 on the terrace overlooking Weymouth Bay. This Victorian fort is situated at the entrance to Weymouth Harbour at the end of the Nothe Peninsula and is a unique setting with stunning views of Weymouth Bay and the Jurassic Coast. There is choice of two packages tailored to meet your needs and budget, with flexibility to suit your own requirements - one for smaller wedding receptions of up to 80 people in the Fort View Café, and one for receptions of up to 200 people in a marquee erected on the Parade Ground. The Parade Ground is a sheltered space, offering a large flat area for a marquee reception, and guests are welcome up on the ramparts to enjoy the views.
The Nothe Fort Artillery Volunteers can be hired to attend your wedding and can design a firing drill to meet your requirements. In their authentic period uniforms, they will create an impact with their large cannon and will entertain your guests with lots of loud bangs and smoke. There is even a ghost tour on offer for those who have the nerve to visit the narrow tunnels under the Fort.
