Artz+ Sportz+ is funded by Dorset Council Short Breaks so only families living in the Dorset Council area are eligible for this holiday programme. BCP residents can access the BCP Short Breaks programme here.
Our tutors, coaches and support team will always do their utmost to support each child. We can adapt many sports sessions to include wheelchair users. All indoor and some outdoor venues are accessible.
We provide support for children, including 1:1. We ask you to stay on site for your child’s first session whilst we get to know you both. A member of our support team will be allocated to you. At future sessions your child may be left in the care of our team, where we are able to meet his/her needs. For sessions that include swimming we may ask you to attend if your child cannot change in/out of swimwear without assistance.
You can complete a Dorset Short Breaks Care Passport here
Our staff
Our Team Leaders are Safeguarding Level 3 trained, and we have a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads. Staff trained in emergency first aid are present at all events. Parents/carers must be available on an emergency telephone number. We also have staff trained in buccal midazolam to support children with epilepsy and in the use of Epipens or adrenalin auto-injectors in the management of anaphylaxis. If you would like to find out more, or discuss any concerns, please call our information line on 01305 252250.
Booking
Places must be booked in advance. If demand is high, we will allocate places and we can supply details of how we do this fairly on request. Unless otherwise stated, events cost £7.50 per child for 2/3 hours, £10 for 4 hours and £12.60 for 5 hours or more. There is a 20% subsidy for those on income-based benefits. Refunds can only be made if you cancel more than two weeks before an event, or if we have to cancel an event.
