Victims of anti-social behaviour (ASB) can request a review of their case if they believe that agencies have taken no action or not done enough to help.
You can request a review if you are a Dorset based:
- resident
- business
- community e.g. group of residents, formal community group or association
Individuals, support workers or MPs acting on behalf of another person or group will need their consent.
Find out more if you live in the BCP Council area.
Requesting a review
To apply for an case review, you must have made qualifying complaints to one of these agencies:
- BCP Council
- Dorset Council
- Dorset Police
- a social housing landlord such as a housing association
A qualifying complaint can be about a closed ASB case or one still under investigation.
Qualifying complaints
You must have reported:
- 3 separate incidents to one of the agencies within a 6 month period
- each incident to at least one of the agencies within one month of it happening (reported by the same person)
- the first incident within 6 months of applying for a case review
The behaviour complained about must be classified as anti-social behaviour. Read full details in the BCP and Dorset Council ASB Case Review Procedure.
Apply for an ASB case review
Complete our online form to request a review of your ASB case.
Contact us to request a paper application form to return by post or in person at our office.
Where a victim has a language or literacy issue or a learning disability, we accept applications in person or by telephone. However, a signed consent on the official application must be obtained.
How case reviews work
We bring agencies together to review the victim's case and look for new solutions.
If we accept an application for a case review, we will hold a multi-agency partnership meeting.
In the meeting, we will review:
- how the ASB case has been handled
- what actions have been taken
- how effective these actions have been
- what else the agencies can do to tackle the ASB and support the victim
We will draft an action plan at the meeting and the lead agency will share it with the victim.
Number of case reviews
The Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 requires us to publish the statistical data about ASB case reviews requested.
