Here in Dorset, we’ve seen some big changes recently with the local election in May, and a change of national government following the General Election. As part of the new administration for Dorset Council, we want to create a new council plan. This will set out our key priorities to be delivered by the council over the next 5 years.

We want to make change happen.

This summer, we’re launching ‘A Big Conversation’ across Dorset, and we want to hear from you, our residents. Your voice is important. What do you think the council should focus on over the next 5 years?

There are 4 main areas where we really want to make a difference:

  • growing our economy
  • providing high quality housing
  • responding to the climate crisis
  • supporting communities for all
We deliver around 450 services to the 380,000 residents of Dorset, and this vital work will continue. The 4 proposed priorities represent the areas where we want to make significant improvement over the next 5 years.

What do you think? Are these the right priorities for Dorset Council?
