Uncollected rubbish
We placed a pink sticker on your rubbish bags because we will only collect your rubbish in blue authorised Dorset Council sacks. The only exception is the first collection after Christmas when we will collect two additional sacks.
Unauthorised sacks
The Recycle for Dorset service provides a sufficient capacity for the average household's non-recyclable rubbish once all recycling and food waste have been placed in the correct containers.
You have received an annual supply of 52 authorised blue sacks for rubbish, enough for two sacks per fortnight.
Any additional rubbish in unauthorised sacks (for example, black sacks) will be left and a pink sticker placed on the sacks.
It is your responsibility to deal with this rubbish. You can take extra rubbish to your nearest household recycling centre free of charge.
Help to reduce your rubbish
You should:
- use your recycling collection to recycle all paper, card and cardboard, glass bottles and jars, tins, cans, aerosols and batteries
- use your weekly food waste collection for any cooked or uncooked food
Request a bigger bin or additional sacks
Depending on your household's specific needs, you may be able to apply for additional sacks. Please note, there may be a delay before we can assess your request and make any changes.
